You’re invited! Ring in Spring with Baroque’s Big Gun:
Join us for Bach Portrait and a special post-concert event
Friday, April 30 at 8pm | Symphony Hall
See Artistic Director Harry Christophers conduct Bach works including the popular Brandenburg Concerto no. 5. If you are a film buff you may recall hearing this lively piece in the movie The American President.
Join us post-concert for food and fun at Symphony 8 Restaurant & Bar on Westland Avenue — just around the corner from Symphony Hall.
Enjoy free appetizers from Symphony 8, and your first drink is on us!
Why Go? Bach is Baroque’s Big Gun and his Brandenburg Concertos are regarded by many as the finest compositions of the Baroque era. No. 5 prominently features the harpsichord and it is believed that Bach wrote this in 1719 to show off a new harpsichord he purchased in Berlin! Hear for yourself.
