Tech+Your Brain+Pioneer Institute=Transparency!

The Pioneer Institute is hosting a pretty interesting competition that we, as fans of government transparancy AND technology, are big fans of. We thought we’d throw it out to all you creative minds.

Get on it!

THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JULY 15, 2010, AND THE COMPETITION IS NOW OPEN TO ALL MA COMMUNITIES!

In May of this year, Pioneer Institute contacted you to inform you about “Apps for Transparency”, a competition to hear citizen’s ideas about how transparency and accountability issues in government could be solved through technology. We want you to know that we have decided to extend the deadline for submissions to July 15th, 2010!

Also, we initially focused on the 14 Middle Cities*. We are now opening the competition to the rest of the state!

So this is your last chance! If you live or work in Massachusetts we invite you to contact your family, friends, and neighbors to ask them 3 basic questions:

› What government information do you think people should have access to?

› In what format do you think this information should be delivered in?

› How do you think technology can be used to make government more transparent and accountable to citizens?

If you chose to participate in this process, you can collect responses to these 3 questions through blog posts, email surveys, video testimonials, phone calls, Twitter update submissions, and/or in-person focus groups.

The individual/team that captures the deepest and broadest insights possible will receive a $1,000 “Ultimate Citizen Award” and public recognition.
