The Urban Beach Party for Big Sister!

Friends of ONEin3 and all-around stars Maria Fernandes and Tito Jackson (both Advisory Council members/alums) are on the host committee for one of Boston’s great events:

The Urban Beach Party!

Summer is just around the corner! Are you ready to welcome it with food, drink, dancing, and fun…all for a great cause? Join Big Sister Association and young professionals from around the city for an all-you-can eat spread from Legal Sea Foods, summer libations provided by Sam Adams and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, and a sizzling summer soundtrack spun by DJ Deja.  And, don’t miss out on the exciting raffle prizes and silent auction items!

That’s what they say about it.

What I’ve heard about it, from non-Big Sister/host committee sources, is that it’s the best party in Boston all year. At $75 it’s a little more expensive than the events we usually talk about, but it’s for a great cause.

So we say, go here and register.

Date: June 24th

Time: 6:00pm to 11:00pm

Location: Exchange Conference Center on the Waterfront in Boston

Tickets: Click click click

Art Fridays Starts Tomorrow!

We love arts and culture and we love Downtown Crossing. In honor of Fun Thursday, here’s a little something that touches both.

Art Fridays is a weekly juried art show with works available for purchase (and food, people!). It runs in Downtown Crossing on Summer Street across from Macy’s from 11am to 6pm EVERY FRIDAY from May to October.

That sounds like a pretty cool event to check out every week during our favorite weather months of the year. The best part? The artists are different every Friday, so you can go back and see new paintings, handcrafted clay, blown glass, stain glass, wood, furniture, photography, wearables, kid’s clothing, metal, handcrafted toys, and silver, metal, gold and beaded jewelry every Friday.

For regular updates, bookmark the Art Fridays website and we’ll see you out there!

The Weekend Plan, with Yelp’s Leighann Farrelly

What a week, ONEin3ers! Though it’s all but in the past, this particular seven-day stretch in mid-January is one we won’t soon forget. Whether you consider Tuesday’s election results triumph or tragedy, I think it’s safe to say we could all use a drink…or two. And since this post is all about what’s poppin’ on the weekend, we’ll forgo the political analysis in favor of finding some fun straight through till Sunday. No trucks, back-ally deals or American Idol failures required.
